Hiw does this even happen? How do you guys feel about this. It looks like there is a bill that is hopefully going to pass, but why don't regular labor laws apply? I'm glad I'm union so that I don't have to deal with this being treated like second class.
I've never heard of this happening, but that's not to say it doesn't. Every paid job I've ever had, I've earned at least minimum wage. The only exception would be my two years in AmeriCorps. But then, I got lots of perks like education money. Honestly, I'm more concerned about the very high unemployment rate among the working-aged blind population than I am about underpayment. I have a stable job, and make what I'd consider to be good money. I know each union is different, but I've heard about a lot of union workers complaining about not making enough.
